Tucson Fire Maintenance Facility & Additions Tucson, AZ 15,570 Square Feet 24'-5" Eave Monorail Crane Beam
Steadfast Structures provided both the original fire maintenance metal building bays as well as the building canopies several years later. The Tucson Fire Truck Maintenance building was designed with large roll-up doors on both the front sidewall and the back sidewall so that fire engines and ambulances could pass through the building for repairs. The building was also designed to support the loads required for a bridge crane (crane by others). The ability to support the bridge crane, which is used to hoist and move engines, was a critical element of the original design. The City of Tucson took advantage of the modular ability of pre-engineered metal buildings during the original design of the maintenance bays. The building was specified to be able to support canopy extensions on both side walls, but the actual manufacture and installation of those canopies was deferred several years to accomodate budget requirements.
